Kampala, Uganda, 10th July, 2023- The Embassy of South Sudan in Uganda, Kampala, celebrated the 12th anniversary of South Sudan's independence with the South Sudanese communities in Uganda at the Las Vegas Garden Hotel.

Uganda's Minister of Refugees and disaster preparedness Hillary Onek, was the guest of honor.

In his remarks he said the Government of Uganda will investigate allegations that some South Sudanese Students attending higher education are being forced to pay for student passes yet they are members of the East African Community (EAC).

The Ceremony attracted a number of representatives from diplomatic missions accredited to Uganda.
